Alice White 0:11
Good morning. Joust -heads.
Buddy Duquesne 0:16
You said it see! Isn't it great?
Alice White 0:19
It's, it's not great, but
Buddy Duquesne 0:21
it really rolls off the tongue. I think people are gonna love this. You know, I've heard at least one other person say the phrase joust heads in real life.
Alice White 0:31
Well, that's excellent news. We know they're. We know they're listening.
Buddy Duquesne 0:36
Yep, they're out there. They're listening and they love us Alice. They love us as a team.
Alice White 0:42
Well, great, excellent. So for those of you who are listening and who love us as a team, welcome back to another day of Jousting in the tournament
Buddy Duquesne 0:54
And what what a match yesterday and let me just say that I was personally devastated but you know, the fact that we were able to like, you took me in to your, to your home and you allowed me to crash on your, your couch. And that actually made me feel a whole lot better at the end of the day. So Alice, I just want to say out there to all of my joust heads that you are one of the best friends I've ever had. And you are making this such an easy experience for me to be here and, and be part of the joust and to be a broadcaster with you. So, thank you for that.
Alice White 1:35
Wow, buddy. That's um that's really sweet. And you know, if you- if you're still having trouble finding a place to stay, I suppose you can continue to stay with me. It wasn't as bad I suppose, as I thought it was going to be so. You know, not the whole months.
Buddy Duquesne 1:53
See I'm the perfect house guest
Alice White 1:54
not the whole month of course.
Buddy Duquesne 1:55
No, no, no, I wouldn't dream of it. No, I'm not going to take advantage of your hospitality. Believe you me I want to be out of your hair even more than you want me out of yours
Alice White 2:05
I doubt it, but all right let's let's get to the the joust! Last night's jealous was the knight of cups versus the knight of pentacles Sir Vai versus Sir Dunia in a, in a heck of a match that really did not turn out very well for your Sir Vai.
Buddy Duquesne 2:22
No Sir Vai fell victim to one of the classic joust mishaps, which was she allowed herself to get distracted by the crowd and especially by one of the kingdom's most infamous performers. Of course I am talking about the Royal Fool.
Alice White 2:45
Yes,
Buddy Duquesne 2:46
Who, who during the halftime festivities did make a couple of crude comments and Sir Vai, of course, ever the the gentle lady did roll with these punches and seem to have good humor about it, but I could tell in the second half that she was not all there and definitely a little distracted going into the final tilts.
Alice White 3:09
No, absolutely and in addition to being distracted, we saw some less than noble actions from Sir Dunia who took advantage of Sir Vai's destruction and started the fourth tilt far earlier probably than he should have.
Buddy Duquesne 3:30
Right. You know, all my joust heads know that if, if somebody in a tilt doesn't look to be completely prepared, the honorable thing to do is, well before making contact to raise one's lance and Sir Dunia had the chance and I seem to think, or, I'm of the opinion that he could have raised his lance and we could have had a much more honorable finish to this, but he took the chance to finish the match in not the best way,
Alice White 4:02
Yes, he did, he chose to go ahead and charge forward lance ahead and unfortunately Sir Vai was unseated from her horse, which caused the end of the match in favor of Sir Dunia. So Pentacles takes his first victory of the tournament.
Buddy Duquesne 4:18
Now, Alice, I know that Sir Dunia didn't have any victories yet, and that he was probably hungry for one. And that could explain his dishonorable behavior. But you know, he's starting to get a bit of a reputation around the arena as somebody who will complain when they lose and who will take every advantage they can in order to win. And I don't think hanging out with Sir Sayif the knight of swords has rubbed off on him in a positive way.
Alice White 4:47
No, I think you're absolutely right. And hopefully we see some changes over the month or this is going to end up being an incredibly nasty tournament.
Buddy Duquesne 4:56
Well, Alice, I guess we should do a little bit of a preview of tonight's joust. What can we expect from the upcoming match?
Alice White 5:04
Well, tonight's match we will be seeing sir Ignatius the knight of wands vs. Sir Sayif the knight of swords, two incredibly great-
Buddy Duquesne 5:14
This is sure to be a greatmatch,
Alice White 5:14
incredibly season performers, very talented jousters. I think this is going to be one of our most exciting and closest matches yet.
Buddy Duquesne 5:25
I am looking forward to it, Alice and I hope everybody out there is too.
Alice White 5:29
Yes. So we will be reporting tomorrow morning on the results of that match and in the meantime, thank you for listening and may all your lances strike true.
